RIP Rob Keating
We are remembering Rob Keating, tireless supporter of Aquabox and enthusiastic and valued member of Rotary Club of Ayr, who passed away recently. Rob embodied the true spirit of Rotary and will be very much missed by all who knew him.
More than twenty fellow Rotarians attended the packed Dundonald Church where the Reverend Lyndsay payed tribute to Rob and his life. One of his sons, Stewart, delivered a light-hearted but emotional eulogy, highlighting many stories, including the Christmas Day when he was given an enormous box which revealed, after wading through the polystyrene packing, a bath plug with a waist tie, ensuring that after he took bath and stood up, the bath would empty. Rob had always complained that Stewart never emptied the bath. Also, we were told that Glenda met Rob one night on a disused Dundee railway line, a short-cut to the nurses’ quarters, where he had taken a little nap after celebrating his 21st birthday party.
Our sympathies go to Glenda and all the family who can surely take comfort from knowing that Rob was such a well-liked and committed Rotarian.
The family has asked for donations to go to Aquabox to commemorate Rob’s life. If you would like to donate, please follow the link below:
