2018 Annual Croquet Competition

Fortunately, unlike last year, the sun shone brightly on the Savoy Park croquet lawn as the contenders gathered for our annual competition. In a closely fought contest Euan Lawrence and Carol Mathewman edged out John Laughland and Maggie Vooght to take top spot. Although there were apparently many sly attempts at cheating these were effectively dealt with by the joint referees Neil Beattie and John Laughland (refereeing himself?!).

 

 

 

 

 

 

This was an excellent day of fun and camaraderie with the usual high quality Savoy Park Hotel fare complemented by copious bowls of summer salads and tasty desserts supplied by members and guests.
