LA Ten Pin Bowling Fun Night

The atmosphere was buzzing when 26 Ayr Rotarians arrived at LA Bowl in Miller Road, Ayr to enjoy a fun night, but with a seriously competitive edge. The thundering roll of bowling balls followed by the explosion of the hard plastic coated maple wood pins at the far end of the alley was heard all over the venue.

Top bowler, David McIntyre

A gutter, ditch or channel, call it what you will, is not where the bowling ball should travel as it trundles its unenviable path to zero points, followed by shouts of gentle derision from the opposition. However, many a strike was achieved, to the delight of the bowler’s team. But an experienced, professional curler was not necessarily a prerequisite for a triumphant conclusion to the evening.

That being said, top curler, David McIntyre became the top bowler with a stunning score of 247, which he admitted probably matched the cumulative score of all his previous attempts at bowling.
