At a recent meeting, Ayr Rotary welcomed as their speaker for the evening Peter Kennerley who gave a presentation on ‘James Boswell (famed biographer of Samuel Johnson) and the Boswell Trust’
Peter a Solicitor by profession, is a founding trustee and active Director of the Boswell Trust, a Scottish charity established in 2010
He gave a most interesting talk about the restoration and preservation of the James Boswell family aisle and mausoleum in Auchinleck churchyard, and the literary arts and education through the legacy of James Boswell.

Under Peter’s leadership, the Trust facilitates the Boswell Book Festival at Dumfries House, in May of each year and is the world’s only festival dedicated to the biography and life writing of James Boswell.
