District Conference 10/11th October Tulliallan Police College

President Douglas, his wife Eileen with past President Geoff Barber and his wife Jan (Ayr Inner Wheel President) attended the conference this year. Out of the many excellent speakers, the highlight of the conference was Holocaust survivor Iby Knill, who captivated the packed lecture theatre with her harrowing account of time under Nazi occupation. With other speakers, their presentations were punctuated with humour and pathos and the inevitable fundraising pleas, all making for an enjoyable conference. Our evening entertainment was provided by courtesy of the very talented Scottish folk duo the Wherries, who were old hands at working an audience, as can be seen by the two volunteer lady dancers who immersed themselves in the night’s frivolities, by following instructions being broadcast from the stage.
