Tuesday 2nd August, Tony Kane, Prince’s Trust

Tony Kane of the Prince’s Trust (Learning and Engagement) gave an excellent talk describing the amazing work undertaken by the Trust in encouraging young people from troubled backgrounds into (or back into) positive roles in society. Tony, an ex-fireman, considered that his role with the Trust was still about “saving lives”.

Tony was ably assisted by Dale McCarlie, originally a participant in the Trust’s self-development programme and now a recently appointed team-leader with the Trust. Dale’s story was truly inspiring as she explained how, like thousands of others helped by the Trust, she had found a new confidence
