Safer Communities – PC Jamie Dunlop
PC Jamie Dunlop, the Safer Communities Officer attended the club on 3rd November and gave a highly informative talk on crime prevention.
He noted that the South Ayrshire Council area has an above average level of elderly people living at home who may be more susceptible to bogus callers, rogue traders and other such scams.
He offered useful advice including tips on home security both when you are at home or the house is empty.
He explained how the Police work with trading standards and the South Ayrshire Council Crime Prevention Panel with a view to educating the public and hopefully reducing criminal activity locally.
Jamie brought along a supply of booklets, ultra violet marker pens and window stickers which he handed out to club members. John Ewing gave the vote of thanks for what was a thought provoking presentation.
