Recent New Member – John Dunlop

John Dunlop has become the most recent new member of the club. He was brought up in Ayr and he and his wife Irene have recently returned here to enjoy their retirement.

John held sales and marketing roles in the food industry in Cadbury, Warner Lambert and Devro Limited before working in sports administration.  He was a volunteer Director of both his local CVS/TSI and Citizens Advice Bureau, and was on the main board of Citizens Advice Scotland for 3 years. He is a trustee of a Scottish sports charity and of a workspace business in Easterhouse, Glasgow. With others, he is currently setting up a national charity designed to create greater opportunities of activity for the disadvantaged.

John is now a grandfather and so lists baby-sitting as one of his hobbies. When he’s not busy with that, his charity work, or rebuilding his house, he tries to find time for the occasional game of golf. However he has also joined the Ayrshire Coastal Path team of pathminders so will inevitably find less time to hone his self-confessed, poor golfing skills!
