Organised by Charlie and his committee, 22 Rotarians boarded a spotless Dodds coach at the Savoy Park hotel on a bright Friday morning 29th JulyFRC_group_1600, destined for the new Queensferry Crossing at South Queensferry. Arriving only 90 minutes later, the happy band of Rotarians scoffed a quick coffee and sandwich at the visitor centre, before being educated by an 80 minute slide show presentation of this civil engineering marvel. Then we were whisked off for a tour over the existing road bridge down to the heart of the construction area at the north side of the river, allowing us to taking many excellent photographs, as displayed here. Our day was concluded by an enjoyable lunch in the Hawes’s Inn in South Queensferry.
