LA Ten Pin Bowling Social Night
The atmosphere was buzzing when 16 Ayr Rotarians arrived at LA Bowl in Miller Road, Ayr to enjoy a fun night, but with a seriously competitive edge. The thundering roll of bowling balls followed by the explosion of the hard plastic coated maple wood pins at the far end of the alley was heard all over the venue.
A gutter, ditch or channel, call it what you will, is not where the bowling ball should travel as it trundles its unenviable path to zero points, followed by shouts of gentle derision from the opposition. However, many a strike was achieved, to the delight of the bowler’s team. But an experienced, professional curler was not necessarily a prerequisite for a triumphant conclusion to the evening, however top curler Bob Cherry was also top bowler with a score of 240.
Ken, Garry, Mary Helen, Martin and Drew (photo bombed by Alan) crowned the top team.
