In spite of mindless vandalism of the Tree of Remembrance one weekend during mid December 2025, Ayr Rotary volunteers, led by Jim Nelson rolled up their sleeves and redressed the damaged tree, righted the hut and added new lights all ready for business on a Sunday morning. The good folk of Ayrshire knew nothing of the trauma and continued their generous donations until Christmas resulting in the three local charities , Ayrshire Cancer Support, The Ayrshire Hospice and Whiteleys benefiting from the annual event with an amazing total of £6375.
