SUMMARY:29 July 2025 - Social Evening with a Cornhole Tournament
DESCRIPTION:Could all attendees please arrive by 5.30pm to ensure a prompt 
 start at 5.45pm as indicated.\n\nThis is the first of our social/informal 
 evenings of this new Rotary year\, being held at the Savoy Park Hotel on T
 uesday 29th July\, with a ‘ Cornhole Tournament’\n\n‘Cornhole’ is
  an easy  bean bag tossing game\, where players take turns to score point
 s by landing bags on a raised board or sinking them through a hole. 3 poin
 ts for a bag through the hole\,1 point for a bag on the board at the end 
 of the game. The bags can be  knocked off the board or into the hole by o
 ther players' bean bags! The objective is to be the first team to reach 1
 0 points.\n\nMembers can of course either play or just spectate.  Teams o
 f two and\, depending on numbers\, probably a knock out competition with a
  series of short games. As an example:\n\n 	16 players would mean 8 teams 
 and therefore 4 games in round 1\,\n 	2 games in round 2\, and\n 	A Final 
 – depending upon timing\, after the meal.\n 	Total of 7 games lasting ma
 ybe 8 to 10 minutes each\n\nIf we have larger numbers participating\, then
  we shall have shorter games.  Weather permitting\, it is planned to hol
 d the competition in the hotel’s gardens\, or indoors if raining. The MC
 s for the evening shall be Bob Cherry and Alan Meikle.\n\n
