Captivated audience

Taken at Coylton Primary School in December, the photographs show activities during Ayr Rotary’s Aquabox presentation. Each child was asked to bring a “penny” which was then placed on the playground in a large circle to demonstrate miles which  children have to walk in some countries, just to fetch water. The Coylton children were then asked to walk round the large money circle several times to imitate their counterparts’ activities in the world where clean water is an issue. The young lad (Aiden 10yrs) standing next to project leader Alex Thomson, was the boy who raised £70 by making and selling bookmarks at 50p each which was added to the total amazing funds raised of  £246. Head Teacher, Mrs Fiona Donnelly presented the cheque.

Aquabox provides safe drinking water and humanitarian aid to people affected by natural disasters, extreme weather and conflicts.
