Cash for Kids
Raised Local, Stays Local
Ayr Rotary members were treated to a powerful presentation by Lauren Cahir, the local corporate fundraising executive for Cash for Kids on the 15th September 2026.
Although Lauren said this was her first public presentation for the charity, which she joined in May this year, she carried it off with aplomb, having a strong clear voice.
Lauren explained Cash for Kids is the official charity of Bauer Media and is dedicated to giving disadvantaged children and young people across the UK the chance to thrive. The important point, which she emphasised several times, is that all the money raised locally is spent locally. The charity helps tackle pov
erty, illness, neglect, and the challenges of additional needs. They are best known for their work at Christmas where Mission Christmas provides gifts for thousands of children who otherwise would not be receiving anything.
Cash for Kids is a national organisation. The local board covers West Scotland, with trustees being drawn from the business community and representatives from Bauer Media.
Lauren’s well-presented talk was supported by some helpful slides. She also showed a short video highlighting how some young people can really benefit from their help.
Several questions from the audience demonstrated Lauren’s knowledge of her job and the charity.
Walter Walsh proposed the vote of thanks, heaping praise on Lauren‘s presentation.
