Ayr Rotary Helps Beach Clean Effort – 18 September 2020
On a delightfully gentle warm, late-summer day twelve members of the club, together with half-a-dozen friends and family, joined forces with Belleisle Rangers and others to take part in the annual Climate Week’s Ayr Beach Clean. This was a great opportunity for Ayr Rotary to demonstrate its commitment to community issues by donning Rotary tabards, litter-pickers at the ready. Friendly banter and good humour was clearly evident as the volunteers strolled along the strand taking time to engage with members of the public who were enjoying the beach at its best.
Many thanks to all who participated including our own John Scott MSP and Daibhidh Wallace, past-president of Kirkintilloch Rotary.
There is a move to make this type of community engagement more regular so let’s see more folk join in the fun and friendship next time. Unfortunately, the same weather can’t always be guaranteed.
