Ayr Rotary Golf Charity Day
Our annual Charity Golf Day is on Friday 3 May 2024 at Belleisle Golf Course.
This year our main beneficiaries are Crosshouse Children’s Fund and the Ayrshire Coastal Path
Crosshouse Children’s Fund is the charity for babies, children and young people in hospital in Ayrshire and Arran. From the tiniest babies in the neonatal unit at Ayrshire Maternity, to the children’s wards at Crosshouse and across the community – Crosshouse Children’s Fund is for Ayrshire’s children in hospital.
Each year more than 25,000 babies, children and young people from across Ayrshire and Arran are treated in the hospitals we support. Funds raised bring the very latest medical equipment to Ayrshire, help families navigate their child’s journey, and help children cope in hospital.
The Ayrshire Coastal Path started in 2008 as a Rotary project. It developed and was so successful that it became too big for Ayr Rotary to run. In 2019 a separate Board was formed to run it and there are now over 50 volunteers who go out most weeks to do maintenance and improvement work. There is no financial help from local councils, and the 100-mile path requires machinery and materials to keep it up. There are no paid employees, unlike most long-distance routes, and fund-raising has become very important. It is now a major tourist attraction, and has been awarded several accolades including being one of Scotland’s Great Trails.
The event will comprise an 18 Hole Stableford competition with prizes for best stableford scores, as well as Longest Drive and Nearest the Pin during your round of golf. The presentation of prizes and refreshments/buffet will be held in the Belleisle Clubhouse on completion of play.
There is a prize draw with many valuable prizes as usual. You can enter this on the day.
Cost is £240 for a team of 4 players while Hole sponsorship is also available for £125. Your sponsorship will be displayed with a Banner on the Course and on the Sponsors Board in the Club House.
